Chaparrals Pitching Strong in Win Over Pterodactyls


Marshfield – The Marshfield Chaparrals secured its 11th straight victory Wednesday night with a 3-1 win over the Plover Pterodactyls at Jack Hackman Field.

The Chaparrals opened the scoring with two runs in the second inning. Both Jack Donahue and Bobby Pilz scored for Marshfield.

Pilz scored again in the sixth after opening the inning with a single.

The Pterodactyl’s rally came up short as the team scored just one run in the eighth inning and was held scoreless the rest of the game.

Pitcher Hunter Korger picked up the win for the Chaparrals, while Kade Lancour was credited with the save.

With the win, Marshfield has limited its opponents to one run or less six times this season. The team boasts an impressive 13-1 record with the only loss coming on the road at the hands of the Wausau River Hawks. See the full replay of the game here:

The Chaparrals return to the diamond tonight as the team hosts the Everest Merchants. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
